Lindsay Lohan sued over "scary" car chase

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) —
A wild ride that led to Lindsay Lohan's arrest has sparked another lawsuit.

Court records show that three men who claim they were in a sport utility vehicle
that Lohan commandeered in July 2007 sued the "Mean Girls" star last week.
Their allegations include battery, false imprisonment and that the actress was negligent
when she allegedly took over an SUV belonging to one of the men
to chase her recently fired assistant.

That chase ended when the assistant's mother called police because she was being followed
and led Lohan toward a police station. Officers suspected Lohan was drunk and arrested her.

Lohan eventually pleaded guilty to two counts of being under the influence of cocaine stemming
from the Santa Monica arrest and an earlier drunken driving arrest in Beverly Hills.
She served 84 minutes in jail and entered rehab.

Lohan's attorney, Ed McPherson, called the lawsuit "absurd."

He claimed the men were having fun during the chase and questioned why they waited
more than a year to file suit.
"It just doesn't make sense," McPherson said.
"They had ample opportunity to get out of the car.
"It's three guys who want to get a lot of headlines," he said,
"and want to make some money."


An attorney for the men, identified as Ronnie Blake, Jakon Sutter and Dante Nigro,
had said last year he hoped to avoid filing a lawsuit against Lohan. McPherson said
there were some early talks, but no settlement was reached.

The case will be heard in Santa Monica, where Lohan is also being sued for emotional distress
by a woman was in the car that was being chased by the actress.
The lawsuit, which seeks more than $25,000 in damages,
was first reported by celebrity gossip Web site.

Lindsay Lohan wants deposition sealed

LOS ANGELES (AP) —
Lindsay Lohan doesn't want to be on camera, at least not when she's giving a deposition.

Lawyers for Lohan filed a motion on Wednesday seeking a judge's order barring any filming
of the actress' upcoming deposition in a case filed by gal pal Samantha Ronson.



She also doesn't want transcripts or other accounts of the deposition introduced into public records.
The documents state Lohan is afraid videotaping the deposition will
"unduly embarrass, oppress and burden her because of the private subject matter
of the expected testimony and the virtual certainty that, unless access is significantly limited,
the transcript and videotape of the deposition will be illegally exploited by the media."

Her attorneys cited a judge's order barring videotaped depositions in Britney Spears
and Kevin Federline's recent custody dispute.

A judge is scheduled to consider Lohan's motion in November.

Lindsay Lohan seeks restraining order against father

Lindsay Lohan is planning to take out a restraining order on her father, according to reports.

The Mean Girls star - who recently claimed dad Michael should be "on medication"
to stop him publicly shaming her - is said to be "terrified" the 48-year-old will harm her.

A source close to the 22-year-old star said:
"Lindsay is going to take out an order of protection against Michael.
He is behaving so erratically that she's terrified he'll do something to her.
She's contacted her lawyer to arrange this."


Michael - who has three children, Lindsay, Ali and Cody, with ex-wife Dina -
has also driven away the rest of his family with his behaviour and attitude.

The source added to the New York Post newspaper:
"Ali already has an order of protection against him, as does Dina.
No one is speaking with him until he gets help."

The pair's troubled relationship came to a head recently when Michael
accused Lindsay's girlfriend Samantha Ronson of "using" his daughter for
publicity. Lindsay, in turn, called Michael a "public embarrassment and a bully".

Most recently, Lindsay wrote on her MySpace page:
"My father obviously needs to be on medication to control his moods.
He is out of line and his words show how much anger he has, and it's dangerous
and scary as it reminds me of how he treated my mother
and I my whole childhood. He needs to be stopped.
This is yet another reason why we aren't speaking."

Lohan is sad to be leaving 'Ugly Betty'

Lindsay Lohan wrote on her blog that filming a cameo appearance
for Ugly Betty was a "delight".

With just a few days left on the New York set, the actress revealed
she will miss the cast and crew of the US TV series.

"It's been such a delight to be a part of this show," she wrote on MySpace.
"Two days left of my shoot on Ugly Betty - I am quite sad to have to leave
the wonderful cast and crew behind. It's always sad to leave people that you get close to."

Lohan plays a mean former classmate of Betty (America Ferrera) on the show.

Lindsay Lohan celebrated her 22^nd birthday with 100 of her closest friends
on Wednesday night at Hollywood hotspot Teddy’s,
a source at the party revealed to “Access Hollywood.”

Lohan was joined by mother Dina and inseparable gal-pal Samantha Ronson,
among others, at the club inside the Roosevelt Hotel.

The party went retro with an ’80s prom theme that found Lohan wearing
a ruffled black-and-white dress and the room decorated with red, silver,
baby blue and light pink balloons,
palm tree banners and happy birthday bar napkins, the source reported.

Nicole Richie’s ex, DJ AM, performed until just before midnight,
when partygoers sang “Happy Birthday” to Lohan,
who was presented with a large cake imprinted with the image
of a billowing-skirt Marilyn Monroe from “The Seven Year Itch.”

Lindsay recently posted for a nude New York Magazine photo shoot
paying tribute to Monroe’s “The Last Sitting.”

Soon after that, Ronson took over the D.J. duties (replacing DJ AM),
as she spun a mix of '80s tunes and current hits. Lohan –
who stuck to Red Bull all evening – made several visits to the booth
and pumped her fists in the air to Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'."

As the party wound down, the couple appeared to relax,
even sneaking in a small peck on the lips at the DJ booth.
By 1:15 a.m., the music was muted and Lohan turned out the lights
with Ronson by her side.
